building safety act
Apollo has extensive experience ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA). We have successfully navigated the requirements for Gateway 2 and Gateway 3, providing support to our clients and the wider team to effectively deliver projects in higher-risk medical buildings. Our commitment to safety and compliance ensures that every project meets the highest standards.
meeting the compliance requirements
mandatory occurrence reporting
Our Mandatory Occurrence Reporting System utilises QR codes to streamline the reporting process, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. This innovative approach simplifies the way incidents are reported, making it easier for everyone involved to fulfil their compliance obligations.
change control plan
Accurately recording change is essential to compliance under the BSA. Our Change Control Plan and associated processes track major, notifiable and minor changes with simple workflows that allow all parties to manage the process collaboratively within our CDE.
competency statement
We have created a risk-based, competency framework, in-line with the requirements of the BS 8670-1:2024 and BSI Flex 8670. The framework defines the competencies required, based upon the risk of the specific HRB. The framework seeks to identify requirements for both trade-based training, and behavioural health and safety training.
construction control plan
Our Construction Control Plan explains our strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure we manage and monitor compliance at each phase of the project life-cycle. The Plan sets out in detail how we intend to meet the requirements of the Building Regulations.
compliance statement
Our Compliance Statement covers all of the requirements under the BS 8670-1-2024 and BSI Flex. It incorporates organisational and individual competence, demonstrating our extensive experience in designing and delivering medical projects subject to building regulations.
serious sanctions
Apollo confirm that we have had no serious sanctions against the company which would prevent it from carrying out its duties under the Building Safety Act. Apollo have never received a prohibition or improvement notice from the Health and Safety Executive.
promoting a safety first culture
We have developed a Construction Phase Plan (CPP), specifically to capture all requirements under the BSA (in addition to the usual requirements of the Plan). The CPP includes details such as subcontractor appointment dates, competencies, training, continued professional development, behavioural safety and details of any serious sanctions.
All works will be carried out in compliance with standards, regulations and legislation. Qualified, competent personnel will be required to inspect and sign-off each applicable element of work. We have documented quality control processes that ensure consistency of delivery and that all work carried out meets the specified standard and regulatory requirements.
Our procedures include the regular checking, monitoring and sign-off of all works being completed. This rigorous inspection regime seeks to identify any defects or deviations from the specified safety controls early, allowing for immediate corrective action. Under our Quality Management System (QMS) all inspection records are retained and will be made available to the client as part of the golden thread within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
Our BSA checklist provides a list of all information required to demonstrate compliance. This checklist is communicated to all team members during the mobilisation phase, with specific roles and responsibilities allocated. Apollo will provide a compliance declaration confirming that we have fulfilled all duties under the Building Regulations.
