modern slavery
“Apollo take a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and is committed to upholding the human rights of all those who work for Apollo, both directly and throughout our supply chain. We are vigilant in ensuring staff are trained and aware of any potential warning signs and are confident to raise concerns, knowing that these will be immediately and robustly addressed”
Karl Butcher
Managing Director
We take the potential risk of modern slavery within our industry very seriously and have developed a Modern Slavery Policy and Charter to identify potential risks in our supply chain and detail our approach to managing these risks. Apollo is not a qualifying business under the Modern Slavery Act on the basis of turnover.
leadership & accountability
Managing Director, Karl Butcher, is ultimately responsible for managing and implementing our approach to the risk of modern slavery. Senior Managers are responsible for raising awareness of human trafficking and modern slavery within their wider construction teams, including the supply chain. All staff are required to act on any concerns, queries and disclosures regarding human trafficking and modern slavery.
Presently 40% of Apollo staff have already received their Modern Slavery Training.. It is our objective to have 100% of our staff trained by the end of 2025. Selected staff have also completed the ‘Due Diligence in Combating Modern Slavery’ delivered by the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
due diligence & addressing risk
Apollo operate an approved list for our supply chain. All subcontractors are required to suitably complete a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ's) before being accepted onto the approved list. The PQQ requires demonstrable evidence of how subcontractors recruit, ensuring right-to-work documentation is in place. Apollo will not accept subcontractors onto the approved list who are unable to provide evidence of their commitment to identifying and combating Modern Slavery.
Our supply chain does not engage in either migrant or transient labour. Our supply chain mapping has identified that agency subcontractors are our highest risk category of subcontractor(s). We seek to ensure that recruitment practices within our chosen labour agency suppliers uphold a standard that protects workers from exploitative practices.
